“I started my divorce thinking I didn’t need an attorney, but that quickly changed. In the initial consultation, he was very knowledgeable and very understanding and pointed out some key custody concerns. I hired Mr. York and by the next day he had filed motions with the court to correct these issues. When we got to the trial he was prepared and organized. It was his preparedness and knowledge that got me primary custody of my 3-year-old.”

Appraisal Protests

Typically each May/June, the Appraisal District sends out property appraisals to residential and commercial property owners. Although property values in Texas have increased in recent years, many times an appraisal can be excessive and exceed the current fair market value. You have the right to protest the appraised value however the process can be daunting. Robert E. York has experience working in the field of property tax litigation and will help you through the protest process. By timely protesting your property’s appraised value, you may realize a reduction which significantly reduces your tax liability.

Will Contests and Probate Disputes

Too often, wills and other estate instruments are unclear, do not meet legal drafting requirements, fail to provide for unforeseen circumstances, were not updated when circumstances substantially changed, or fail to carry out the clear intentions of the deceased. Worse, the circumstances of the will’s drafting may be suspect. If you feel you need to contest a will or another part of an estate, or if you feel an estate is not being administrated fairly, we can represent you in probate court.

“We have retained lawyers for many reasons over the past twenty years, and never have we been treated more respectfully than with Robert York and his Staff”
